Members of the Network of Universities of Northwest Africa and the Macaronesia will participate in the UNWAM meeting.
On Tuesday, October 30 and Wednesday, October 31, the Second Meeting of the UNWAM Network of Universities (Universities of North-West Africa and the Macaronesia) will take place in Agadir (Morocco).
Ibn-Zohr University of Agadir will host this second meeting of Universities of Northwest Africa and the Macaronesia that was established in December 2017 at the initiative of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with the aim of intensifying the internationalization of the North-West Africa area through a global network of partners. The objective is also for this geographical area to be perceived by worldwide institutions and organizations as an active and truly internationalized academic environment.
In this second meeting, issues related to the university-company relationship, entrepreneurship training, joint degrees, quality and knowledge transfer will be addressed. The delegation from the ULPGC will be headed by the Rector Rafael Robaina and the Vice-rector for Internationalization and Cooperation, Richard Clouet.
In addition, seven new universities from Morocco, Benin, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Senegal and Equatorial Guinea will join the 12 institutions that constituted the network last year, namely the public universities of the Canary Islands and those from the Azores, Madeira, Cape Verde, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, and Senegal. As such, 11 countries are already represented in the network.
For this second meeting of the UNWAM network, 14 rectors of the partner universities have confirmed their presence.
